The Drive Time Matrix (DTM) is an easy to use table containing the drive time and distance between Dutch postcode areas. It uses only the 4-digit numerical part of the postcode. This makes the table small in size and simple to integrate into your own software.
The location of the 4-digit postcode area is defined as the average location of all addresses within that area. The average location can deviate up to 1 kilometres in residential areas and up to 3 kilometres in rural areas. This makes the matrix best suited for routes longer than 5 kilometres.
There are about 4000 4-digit postcodes in the Netherlands. The DTM contains roughly 8 million records as distances are only calculated one-way.
